Where to Find the Best Vegan Breakfast in Graz
I lived in Graz for 13 years and I love going for breakfast and brunch! So, I had plenty of time looking for the best spots.
While I love eating at the fully vegan restaurants in Graz, none of them open early enough for breakfast! Luckily, Graz has plenty of great places with vegan options that make for a delicious start to the day.
Here are my favorite spots for a great vegan breakfast in Graz, where you’ll find vegan options clearly labeled on the menu.
1. Klyo

Klyo is a great spot right in the city centre at the bottom of the castle hill in Graz, with a wide range of options that make it easy to find something you’ll love.
They offer everything from porridge and acai bowls to scrambled tofu, hummus with grilled veggies, and even vegan protein pancakes. I really love their big selection!
Klyo is actually the only place in Graz where you can get scrambled tofu! That said, I have to admit that I found the scrambled tofu a bit bland. Still, with so many tasty choices, Klyo is a top pick for a plant-based breakfast in Graz.
Breakfast Times: Every Day from 9am to 10pm
2. Parks
Parks used to be my go to spot for vegan brunch in Graz on weekends. They have only one vegan option but it contains a bit of everything, fresh veggies with spread and bread, a yoghurt with fruits and a small slice of cake.
I hope they still offer the same option, as I haven’t been there in a while. It’s definitely on my list for my next visit to Graz.
It’s located near the university of Graz, which is one of the underrated attractions in the city. So, don’t miss your change to check it out after breakfast or brunch.
Breakfast Times: During the week from 9am to 11:30am
Brunch Times: Weekends from 9am to 2pm
3. Kunsthauscafe

Kunsthauscafé is the popular cafe inside the famous Kunsthaus, the modern art museum in Graz. They have one good vegan breakfast option with hummus, avocado cream, fresh bread rolls, veggies, and chia pudding.
If you’re in the mood for something lighter, you can also order a chia pudding with fresh fruit or a slice of bread with avocado or butter and chives.
One of my favorite things about Kunsthauscafé is their variety of fancy drinks. They even have a dirty chai (a chai latte with espresso), which you don’t see everywhere.
Breakfast Times: Every Day from 9am to 4pm
4. Tribeka

Tribeka may not be a traditional breakfast spot, but their vegan bagels make it one of my go-tos for a quick and tasty morning bite.
They have a few great options, like a bagel with hummus, lettuce, and tomatoes, and another with smoked tofu, mango chutney, cress, and peanut butter. Both of them are so delicious! I also highly recommend their vegan mango lassi, which is so good.
With four locations around Graz, Tribeka is super convenient, so you can easily grab a quick breakfast before you explore the best of Graz.
Breakfast Times: Different in Every Location but at least from 8am to 5pm
5. Ducks Coffee Shop

I wasn’t sure if I should even include Ducks Coffee Shop on this list since they don’t have their vegan options clearly labelled. But they have so many vegan options (wraps, sandwiches and cakes) that I had to include it anyway.
So, the downside is you have to ask for their vegan options, the upside is that it’s such a cute cafe in Graz with its duck decorations all over the place.
Breakfast Times: Every Day from 7:30am to 6pm (weekends they open at 9am)
6. Die Scherbe
Die Scherbe offers a unique vegan breakfast option that’s perfect if you’re looking for something hearty.
Their vegan breakfast comes with your choice of Bondas (Indian spiced potato balls) or falafel, alongside a tasty selection of spreads like hummus, grilled pepper spread, and baba ghanoush. It’s served with marinated olives, fresh veggies, and bread.
Breakfast Times: Every Day from 9am
7. Freiblick
Freiblick is the café located on the top floor of Kastner & Öhler. In the summer, you can enjoy breakfast on the roof top terrace, while in winter, you can eat inside and still step outside for a quick look at the Christmas market on the main square in Graz.
For vegan breakfast options, Freiblick has a granola bowl, an acai bowl, and a big vegan breakfast plate, which includes cranberry hummus, avocado, Styrian chickpea-carrot salad, vegan butter, and soy yogurt.
Breakfast Times: Every Day from 9am to 4pm
Final Thoughts: Vegan Breakfast in Graz
Graz may not have fully vegan breakfast spots, but with so many vegan options, there’s still plenty to enjoy. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty breakfast plate, a refreshing smoothie bowl, or a tasty vegan bagel, you can find it all in Graz.
